Event Planning
The Event Planning course I completed at Messiah University encompassed a comprehensive study on conceptualizing, planning, executing, and evaluating in-person and virtual events. Through lectures, readings, and guest speakers, I learned about the industry and the details of the event planning process. Through four assignments, I got hands-on experience of creating, and even executing, event plans individually and in teams. The first three event plans shown below are fictitious projects while the last was a real event which we planned and executed on Messiah University's campus.
Regional Student Art Conference
This individual fictitious conference plan was created for Messiah University's art department as a way to connect and teach art students from multiple schools across Pennsylvania and into Maryland. This plan includes the introductory materials, budget, timeline, logistics, promotions, evaluation, and more for a conference lasting two whole days.
New Hope Virtual Gameshow
This fictitious event is unique in the fact that it is a virtual event for the nonprofit organization New Hope Ministries. It is a family-friendly gameshow that serves to thank the nonprofit's biggest supporters and showcase everything they have accomplished. This was a small group project of about six people where I was on the promotional team where I created the general theme, posters, social media posts, and invitations.
Career and Community Showcase
This event was a full-class project where roughly 30 students were split into four teams to plan an event that would showcase internships and outreach programs that Messiah students participate in through the Career and Professional Development Center and the Agape Center. I was on the logistics team where I helped plan the basic details of the event and acted as a liaison between the different teams and leaders.
